What is a Trade Union?

Unions engage in negotiation and collective bargaining with employers and relevant authorities to secure fair wages, improved working conditions, and job security.

JMDA serves as the official bargaining agent for junior doctors, representing members in negotiations with the Ministry of Health & Wellness, Ministry of Finance, Regional Health Authorities and other stakeholders.

Members receive expert guidance and representation in workplace disputes, contractual issues, labour-law breaches, occupational safety concerns, disciplinary actions, and appearances before the Industrial Disputes Tribunal where necessary.
